Canadian superstar DJ Joel Zimmerman AKA Deadmau5 is about to release his new single after recently releasing soaring euphoric track "The Veldt". After collaborating with Rob Swire of Pendulum on "Ghosts N Stuff" which hit No. 12 on the UK chart in October 2009, he has now teamed up with My Chemical Romance lead singer Gerard Way for his new single "Professional Griefers". The highly-anticipated track received its premiere on Pete Tong's Radio 1 show at the beginning of the month. "Professional Griefers" is largely a typical Deadmau5 track with thumping house beats and a catchy synth-hook, set-off with Gerard's trademark aggressive vocal-style and an anthemic stadium-ready chorus. This collaboration really does work and will no doubt be storming dancefloors over the coming months. Enjoy!
US R&B sensation Shaffer Chimere Smith AKA Ne-Yo is about to release the first single "Let Me Love You (Until You Learn To Love Yourself)" from his fifth studio album R.E.D. (Realizing Every Dream). The track very much conforms to the singer's recent highly successful foray into Dance-influenced R&B ("Closer", "Beautiful Monster" - both UK No. 1 singles) and is produced by long-time collaborators Stargate. Co-written with David Guetta (Titanium) and Flo-Rida (Wild Ones) collaborator Sia Furler and rumour-has-it UK dance stalwart Mike Di Scala from Scouse house legends Ultrabeat ("Pretty Green Eyes"), "Let Me Love You" is a thumping dance track with a euphoric synth hook and looks set to replicate his recent chart success here in the UK.
Another one-third of N-Dubz is about to go solo! After having production credits on both Dappy and Tulisa's huge UK No. 1 records "No Regrets" and "Young", its time for Fazer's own debut solo single "Killer". A thumping club record, with euphoric trance synths and Fazer's largely auto-tuned vocals, "Killer" fits right into the hugely popular current trend of dance music ruling the charts. However, this track catches you off guard - when you expect it to break down into a huge trance instrumental section (similar to "Young"), it hits with an interesting squelchy dubstep section (tame in dubstep terms)! At the end though we are rewarded with a true "hands in the air" moment which will no doubt send club-goers bonkers! Me-thinks a hat-trick of solo No. 1 records from N-Dubz.....enjoy!!
The third contestant from last year's X Factor to premiere new material is Middlesborough lass Amelia Lily. After being eliminated in the first round by mentor Kelly Rowland, Amelia Lily managed to find her way back into the contest after Frankie Cocozza's antics off-screen led to him being asked to leave the show. Proving a popular contestant for the rest of the show, Amelia Lily managed to make it to the final and ended up in 3rd place after winners Little Mix and runner-up Marcus Collins. Now, after signing a 3-album deal with Sony subsidiary Xenomania, a production and writing house famous for churning out many of Girls Aloud's biggest hits, Amelia Lily is about to release her debut single "You Bring Me Joy". A thumping, melancholic piece of electro-pop with an infectious bassline and chorus, the track certainly fits into the P!nk / Katy Perry genre that so suited her......a surefire hit over the coming months! Enjoy!
